I run all summer in the heat. In the fall when the temperature starts to fall, I have to adjust to the cooler temperatures. The first time in the season when it is 50 degrees, I have to convince myself I will not be cold. Then I run and remember how nice 50 is. Then when it gets down to 40 I have to have another discussion with myself to get me out the door. Then I recall how nice 40 is for running. I go through the same thing at 30 degrees then 20 degrees. Winter is wonderful running if you are dressed right. I still have a mental block against single digit temperatures but Kathy is my inspiration to get out there no matter what. She is not intimidated by the cold.
Today I had a lovely 5.1 mile hill run in 44 degree temperature. At this point of the winter I see 44 degrees and think how warm it is.
