Sometimes You Have It
Sometimes you have it. The run is going fabulous. The legs feel strong and powerful. The mind is pushing you forward. You feel like you are running on air. Today was NOT one of those days. I felt like I was wearing concrete boots and running through peanut butter. Today's run was hills. After yesterday's aerobic run my legs felt like spaghetti. When I find the going tough I recite a mantra to myself to keep myself going. Today's mantra was "you will not die before the next mailbox." I did finish 6 miles with hill repeats. I finished with a big smile on my face because I succeeded. Sometimes you have it and sometimes you don't but you can still push through.
