We all know that hydration is important whether you are exercising or not. I have a motion activated camera that I have pointed at my little pond behind my house. I get a lot of pictures of squirrels getting a drink of water. It amazes me how long the squirrel will get a drink of water. It will drink for 20 seconds straight. The raccoons likewise take long drinks of water. When I was thirsty I filled a big glass with water and drank. It only took me 10 seconds for what I felt was a long drink of water. This filled my head with a whole host of questions I have no answer to. Is the squirrel's water intake low so they need to drink longer? Is the water in my pond delicious making them want more. Do they get drinks less frequently because they get long drinks? Do squirrels burp?
Today was a rest day - no running. I feel I need it. I am resting and hydrating.
