Keeping up with Jim

I have a very busy day tomorrow so I pulled the easy run up to today.  Since I ran 8.5 miles of trails yesterday, my intent was for very easy.  Jim went with me.  I was running on tired legs.  Jim was running on fresh legs.  He led the way.  I spent the whole time keeping up with him.  We finished 5.1 miles at an average pace of 9:23.

The weather for yesterday's run and today's run was similar.  It was about 48 degrees, cloudy and windy.  Yesterday I didn't wear gloves.  When I was done, I could barely put the key in the ignition with my frozen hands.  Today I wore gloves and my hands felt great.  What a difference a light pair of gloves makes.

Yesterday was national pig day.  I can't believe I let the day go by without realizing it was a day to celebrate the Flying Pig Marathon.  I'm not sure how your are supposed to celebrate national pig day - by eating bacon?  We had salmon and vegetables.  The pigs were safe from us.
