Today Kathy came over to watch the Boston Marathon. I was excited about the USA women. Des Linden won. She was the first American women to win Boston in 33 years. I was babysitting Willow today. Her mom Jen was 2 the last time an American woman won. I hope Willow doesn't have to wait 33 years to see another woman win. If it is another 33 years I will be 95.
It was cold in Boston, It was raining in Boston, It was windy in Boston. Temperatures were in the mid 30s with wind gusts up to 32MPH. It was not great running conditions but the runners gutted it out and raced. 1298 people visited the medical tents along the course many more visited at the end, many with hypothermia related issues. 72 people were transported to the hospital. Runners are hardy souls with tough minds.
I watched the TV coverage. I didn't see any hills that were worse that the Zombie Trail. Next year we will be there. Hopefully the weather will be better.
