I have been counting down to the marathon for four months. Today the countdown is down to single digits:
8 - Only 8 days until the Marathon
7 - Days in a week that I think about running. Even if it is a rest day I am still thinking about running.
6 - Number of hours it takes to drive to Cincinnati (unless Kathy speeds which she has been known to do)
5 - Number of different pairs of shoes I have used in training: Ghost which I retired, New Ghost, Glycerin, Cascadia, Ghost GTX - All Brooks
4 - Only 4 more training runs on the schedule
3 - Bruised toenails
2 - Strong legs
1 - One week and one day until the race.
Since Kathy mentioned the St. George Marathon I can't get it off my mind. It looks like a fantastic race for a fast time. There are no flying pigs but the scenery is beautiful.
Today is a rest day which is good because it has been raining all day.
